Real estate agents can offer clients more than just homes for sale
In real estate there is a lot of competition. Agents are looking for a competitive edge and seek out ways to make them stand out from the crowd. This equates to better services and more options for the customer.
It goes without saying (even though I am about to say it) that real estate agents assist with the buying and selling of houses. But the term is changing from houses – to homes. It is really about where the client will call home and sometimes a house is not the best fit.
A young professional couple hoping to purchase a home may not be financially strong enough to get the house in the location that they want. On the other end of the spectrum, empty-nesters who want to downsize may not want to leave the area they know and love just because there is no real estate available to purchase. Even those hoping to relocate may be apprehensive to invest in a house in an area they are not familiar with.
So what is an agent to do? Find a better solution for those clients.
One option that is becoming increasingly popular meets the needs of all three of the previously mentioned groups – the maintenance-free, luxury apartment community. Gone are the days when “apartment” meant “high-rise, fit as many as you can, super-cramped living spaces on the cheap”. Bright, spacious, high-end apartment communities with luxury amenities are here to stay and are becoming the go-to place for anyone not ready (or don’t want) to purchase a home. Realtors are aware of this trend and are becoming experts in local luxury communities to help more clients find what they want and increase their customer base.
In March, 2016, The Hamlet at Saratoga Springs, a Prime Companies Community located in Saratoga Springs NY, hosted a lunch for local realtors. “Realtors are a great link to those customers we are trying to reach. We encourage them to become familiar with all of our Prime Companies communities so they can make informative recommendations to their clients and find them the right property to call home,” says Bob Fisk, Regional Property Manager for Prime Companies. They enjoyed dining on the outside/inside upper-deck with lunch provided by the surrounding restaurants located across the parking lot such as Gennaro’s Pizza and The Fresh Market. They also toured the private dog area, fitness center and apartments ranging from single-bedrooms to penthouse suites. Most importantly, they walked away with a new property to offer to their clients.
“Not only will clients love to live here, I may have some track season clients who would rent here too!” says Nancy Ragosta, a Coldwell Banker Prime Properties Agent.
Real estate is ever-changing and the successful realtors will be able to help at any stage of the home lifecycle whether it be for young professionals, empty-nesters….or even track season!
