Why Prime Companies Loves The Capital Region
Prime Companies has been serving the Capital Region in all aspects of real estate and hospitality for more than 40 years. We continue to develop real estate in addition to assisting other investors in developing areas throughout the Capital Region, in hopes of drawing new residents and businesses to an area that we feel is one of the best in New York.
Many of our staff members are lifelong residents of the Capital Region while others moved here for school or work and after falling in love with the area, decided to stay. Check out some of the reasons why we love the Capital Region…and you should too.
The Capital Region has an amazing mix of urban and suburban living options. Downtown Albany, Troy, Saratoga Springs, and Schenectady are great options for those that enjoy the bustling city life while areas such as Loudonville, Rotterdam, Niskayuna, and Ballston Spa are great suburban areas. The Capital Region is also home to some of the best school districts in New York State. Niskayuna, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, Voorheesville, Saratoga Springs and Bethlehem Central School Districts consistently rank as some of the top schools in upstate New York, making the Capital Region a great place to raise a family.
Arts & Entertainment
There is a lot to love when it comes to arts, culture, and entertainment around the Capital Region. The area is home to countless art groups and attractions, venues, museums, and clubs. In addition to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), the Capital Region is home to the Palace Theatre in Albany, Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady, The Cohoes Music Hall, and the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, to name a few. Albany is also home to the Park Playhouse, an open air stage in Washington Park.
Museums in the area include the New York State Museum, The Children’s Museum of Science and Technology, The National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame, The Museum of Innovation and Science, The Albany Institute of History & Art, and many more. Most of our multifamily properties are built near these amazing venues including The Hamlet at Saratoga Springs, Electric City Apartments, and Hudson Square Apartments.
The Capital Region has tons of architectural character with many different types of buildings and styles. From Romanesque to American Colonial, and everything in between, the Capital Region is home to an amazing mix of building styles. The area is also home to a number of buildings on the historical register.
The Capital Region is home to a large number of parks, hiking trails, lakes, the Adirondack Mountains, and even nature preserves. This means that there are endless outdoor activities for nature lovers. Residents of the Capital Region enjoy beautiful hiking trails in places such as Thacher Park and Peebles Island, as well as amazing lakes including Saratoga Lake, Ballston Lake, and Sacandaga Lake. Several of our apartment communities including Shelter Cove and Waters View even feature direct access to state and town parks.
You can’t talk about the Capital Region and not mention all of the great food options. There are weekly farmer’s markets in Troy, Saratoga Springs, and Schenectady which provide easy access to fresh, locally grown food. The Capital Region is also home to some amazing and diverse restaurants. In addition to family run restaurants that have been in business for decades such as Perreca’s in Schenectady, there are constantly trendy, new restaurants popping up that serve various types of cuisine such as Persian, Italian, Korean, and more.
The Capital Region truly is a great place to live and that is why we continue to work on developing projects that add to the charm and character of the area, and help people to find the perfect home, apartment, or office space.
